Description
This sepia-toned postcard shows a charming tree-lined street in Franklin, N.Y., with houses nestled amongst the foliage and a Native American illustration. A one-cent stamp and a 1908 postmark complete the nostalgic scene. Jennie Pomeroy sent this postcard to her sister on July 21, 1908, sharing news about a planned summer visit.

Dear sister, Received your kind letter this noon. I have made up my mind to go to Mother's this summer. I think perhaps I may go next. Let Grove know when to meet me. I am going to see her, saying that Mother is so poorly & I am not well & to leave the children at home if I came. I thought I would tell you. Think you must have had a hard time for your visit. I am needed at home, but I cannot always have my own way. Write when you can. Love to all from Jennie Pomeroy. West Suffield, Conn.
