STATE STREET, LOOKING NORTH. State Street is the main approach to the city from the north on the west side of the Genesee River, and has many large commercial buildings at its upper end. Intersecting with Main Street and forming the "Four Corners", it extends directly north to the shore of Lake Ontario. This street, together with Exchange Street, is known as the "Wall Street" of Rochester.
