Description
A colorized view shows the Santa Fe Limited train stopped beside a platform lined with palm trees and a curved balcony in the foreground. Small figures stand along the platform, including people in traditional dress selling beadwork near the train. Mountains and a long wall stretch across the background behind the tracks. The card is dated from the early 1900s, likely the 1900s decade.

POST CARD
The town of NEEDLES is but a few miles
beyond the Colorado River in California. It is
a division point on the Santa Fe. Close to
Needles live the remnant of the once powerful
and warlike tribe of Indians, the Mojaves, now
beggarly hangers-on to civilization, who love
to congregate around the trains and offer their
wares to passengers.
River boats ply between the town and the
Gulf of California.
