Description
An indoor patio dining room is shown with several set tables covered in white cloths and surrounded by colorful chairs. A tall dark lava-rock wall fills the left side, while a pale stucco wall and brick half-wall frame the right side. Decorative pottery and plants add to the Southwestern atmosphere. The card is undated.
Back Text (verbatim):
THE PATIO AT LA POSTA
Mesilla, New Mexico
This room was formerly the stables and harness room in the
days when La Posta was an active station on the old butter-
field stage route. The black rock wall on the left is actually
lava, collected from nearby lava beds, remnants of ancient
volcanic activity.
