Description
Two children peer from behind a sheer curtain while watching a spooky Halloween scene. Outside the window, a crowd of colorful witch-like faces presses close in a surreal, anthropomorphic composition. Candles sit on the sill beside a decorative Halloween symbol, and the card includes a short verse about keeping witches out. The card is postmarked 1912.
Front Text (verbatim):
If you wish to keep the witches out
And be safe on old Halloween
Draw a double cross upon the sill
Where it surely will be seen.
