THE OLD SWINGING BRIDGE
General Stonewall Jackson passed this historic spot on his way to the battle of Antietam, and near it stands the house of Barbara Fritchie, the heroine of Whittier's poem, now open to the public. The Old Mill, built in 1790, has just recently been destroyed by fire. Baker Park, Frederick's beautiful public park, begins at this point.
