THE FALLSWAY
A beautiful millstream, known as Jones' Falls, resented civilization with freshets; it tore away bridges and flooded streets. Several years ago it was subdued—three closed tubes in the bed of the stream suck in the waters so strongly that the freshet is carried harmlessly into the harbor. Above the tubes a wide street has been built.
Pulling it on in a big minute. I might dine in New York this week.
