Another month nearly gone. Jan. 27, 19—
Hello Dearie;
I am sending you some postcards of the town here. This is what El Paso looks like when you get up on the plains so you can see the mountains.
We are having quite a time here with the Mexicans. They have tried to cross the river twice and have been driven back both times before they could get across. There have been two or three of them killed. I don't know if they are going to try to cross every night.
