Sept. 9, 1965.
Saw the new bank building today. They used
a total of 7,819 coins to adorn the 20-foot wide
"Money Tree" on the executive offices floor of
the First National Bank in Dallas. Located at
the head of the escalator, the mural tree is done
in bas-relief, with trunk and branches carved
from solid walnut. It sparkles with coins dating
back to Egypt's Pharaohs, China's Manchu Emperors, Hannibal's Rome and to other historically
important periods.
This monument is the swankiest of the
15 buildings. It is just
perfectly beautiful. A
bright and sunny day.
All best love,
Jim
