CLEMSON COLLEGE, the South Carolina A & M College, was founded in 1889, made possible by the bequest of Thomas G. Clemson, and was opened in 1893. Clemson is an all-men college with an enrollment of 3,500 students. Major degrees are presented in Agriculture, Engineering, Textiles, Chemistry, Education, and Arts and Sciences.
