Description
The Atlantic Hotel in Bridgeport, Connecticut, is pictured on this sepia-toned postcard, showing a bustling cobblestone street with horse-drawn carriages. A fire engine was even part of the trolley ride from New Haven, according to the 1912 message on the back. This charming view of Bridgeport’s streets and homes dates back to the 1910s.

Am having a fine time here
in Bridgeport for a few days.
This is quite a manufacturing
city but it has a number of lovely
homes too. It took us two hours
to come from
New Haven
on a trolley. A fire engine
was part of the trolley.
I prefer New Haven.
Sincerely, Edna
