BALTIMORE STREETCAR MUSEUM
Baltimore, Maryland
"America's Only Downtown Streetcar Museum"
In 1902 The United Railways & Electric Co. ordered
220 car bodies, but only 110 sets of wheels. In
the summer open cars were operated, but in winter
the wheels were put under closed cars. One such
car is No. 3828, shown here operating under the
B. & O. R.R. bridge at the Baltimore Streetcar
Museum. The George F. Nixon Substation on the
right supplies 600 volts Direct Current to operate
the streetcars. The museum is located in Down-
town Baltimore, just 3 blocks from Penn Central
Station.
